“The session is responsible for all decisions regarding the program and policies of the congregation, except for the two powers reserved for the congregation: the election of officers, including the pastoral staff, and the buying, selling, and/or mortgaging of church property“ (PCUSA Book of Order). The Session meets monthly, and as needed, to address the operational needs of the church; authorize and record celebrations and services in Christ; record official actions of the Session; receive reports on committee activities; and document membership changes  Minutes of Session meetings are filed in the church’s official compendia stored in the church office.

The Session is comprised of nine Ruling Elders serving three-year terms, the Clerk of Session, and the Moderator. The pastor is the moderator of the TCPC Session.
